“Text, Give, Protect”

This month you can look forward to the introduction of the Polar Bear White cans! Coca-Cola is partnering with the World Wildlife Federation (WWF) to raise awareness and generate public support/funding to create an arctic polar bear refuge. This holiday season, Coca-Cola invites consumers and our retail partners to join us in protecting one of our beloved holiday icons, the polar bear.  Consumers can simply text the code found on all sparkling packages to make a $1 donation, and Coca-Cola will match up to $1Million. Coca-Cola cans will change from traditional red, to white for the holiday season as a symbolic gesture of our commitment and support of polar bear plight.

October Refresher!

November 1st, 2011

Saturday, October 15th, Coca-Cola celebrated its 125th Birthday! Ozarks Coca-Cola/Dr Pepper Bottling Company opened its doors and invited customers, friends, and Coke enthusiasts alike to come and celebrate as it commemorated 125 amazing years of refreshing the world with the delicious taste of Coca-Cola! The open house included plant tours, awesome giveaways with great prizes, and FREE refreshing Coke products to sample, including the NEW Dr Pepper TEN! It was a great turnout drawing nearly 1,500 guests! While waiting in line, OCCDP Chairman and CEO, Edwin Rice kept the crowd entertained with interesting Coca-Cola history! During the tour, each person was treated to a cold Coca-Cola fresh off the line as it was being bottled. Check out the photos from this event on our Facebook page! http://www.facebook.com/ozarkscokedp

Throughout the month of October, Ozarks Coke also spent time focusing on fundraisers to benefit the United Way, such as a cookout and offering a casual Friday every week. With the help of these fundraisers and the pledges that came in from employees and the company itself, we were able to raise a total of $21,649 for the United Way! Ozarks Coca-Cola strives to help make a difference for those living in the Ozarks!

High Point Elementary’s 4th grade class in Nixa received a special visit from a couple Ozarks Coke employees during their creative writing class. They were assigned to give a persuasive speech about promoting a new product, which happened to be the NEW Dr Pepper TEN! Five groups of 3-4 students created a billboard promoting Dr Pepper 10 and gave a persuasive speech along with it. Some groups went a step further and even came up with jingles for their presentations, including a rap jingle!  Coke representatives critiqued the presentations and gave positive feedback to each group. The creative class was rewarded with Coke water bottles, Coke wristbands, and of course, samples of Dr Pepper TEN for everyone! The billboard pictures that the children created were given to Ozarks as a keepsake and will be displayed in our break room!

Interactive Site CokeCheers.com benefits Boys & Girls Clubs of America

February 1st, 2011

From now until the big game on Sunday, February 6, Coca-Cola fans can show team spirit and help out the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Coke Cheers (www.CokeCheers.com) is an interactive experience that lets football fans send a “Cheers” to their favorite team online.

For every “Cheers” fans send, Coca-Cola will donate $1 to Boys & Girls’ Club of America’s Triple Play Program (up to $250,000). This program encourages children from the ages of 6-18 to eat better, be physically active and build healthy relationships. It has changed the lives of more than four million participants across the nation, including many in Springfield, since its creation in 2004.

Sally Hargis, Vice President of Ozarks Coca-Cola/Dr Pepper Bottling Company, is enthusiastic about the promotion. “We are proud to be part of a company so committed to finding innovative ways to support great causes. We think Coke Cheers will be a great success nationally, and we hope that our fans here in southwest Missouri will be a part of that success,” she said.

Ozarks Coca-Cola/Dr Pepper Bottling Company supports Boys & Girls Clubs and programs such as Triple Play on a local level as well. Triple Play is offered at all three local units of the Boys & Girls Clubs. According to Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield Executive Director Pat Gartland “Boys & Girls Clubs give young people a place to belong and a chance to learn and grow, but unhealthy lifestyles put them at risk for obesity and other health problems. We want our kids to develop positive habits such as regular exercise and healthy food choices. The Triple Play program helps us to reach these goals.” For information about Triple Play please call 417-862-9249.
